I wanted to let you know how well things are going with my double knee replacement. I really appreciated your faith in me to do both of my knees at the same time. You listened to my history and my commitment to rehab and we made a joint decision to move forward. I really felt that you were invested as much as I was in the success of the operation. Here we are a year and a half later, and I have two new knees. Within 4 months after the operation, I was back on the handball court running around like I hadn't for years. Being 47 at the time of the operation, I wanted to live as actively as I had previously, and I am back to doing far more than I had been for the past 10 years with no pain. I do realize, Doc, that I will probably have to do them again in 15 years or so, but I am living my life the way I want and it's worth it. See you in 15 years or so and you can work your magic again!

Dr. Sridhar Durbhakula (often called Dr. “D”) is a “miracle worker.” I visited with him circa 6-months before I had my total hip replacement. During that diagnosis interview, he advised that I would want to visit him again once my quality of life began to deteriorate. He was a prophet because my deteriorating joint condition because worst as the 6-months past. Being honest, I was reluctant to have the operation because of the unknown factor of pain, immobility, and limitations I would have during and after the operation. Well, the operation was scheduled as planned on 8 December 2010 at 10:00 AM. It was a total success. In fact, with the professional and capable staff at Shady Grove Adventist Orthopedic Center, they had me standing on the side of my bed the same afternoon of surgery at 5:00 PM. The most miraculous aspect of this feat was I had absolutely no pain then and literally no pain throughout my recovery.
I have gone through two weeks of home rehabilitation, three weeks of weekly out-patient rehabilitation therapy and have been walking free without the aid of a cane or walkers since week two after surgery. I have no limitations whatsoever and after enduring the experience 6-months after surgery I am the biggest cheer leader of Dr. Durbhakula and his staff. I play golf, speed-walk, lift light weights and am able to resume my athletic life I once could not engage during my ailing times before surgery. Thanks, Dr. “D!!”

Dr D did my anterior hip replacement earlier this year. He's amazing. I've had a few muscle issues since then (not a result of the surgery; the hip itself is doing well) requiring add'l FUP visits and he's always been professional, compassionate and on point with his diagnosis. I have been to other orthopedic surgeons but chose him to do the surgery because he took the time to explain things to me and treated me like a human being. Very rare in today's world. I highly recommend him!

I was told for years that my knee replacement was not the problem and that I just had to lose weight. Dr. Durbhakula took one look at my knee exam and the xrays and knew there was a problem. He did a new knee replacement and I have never looked back. I feel great. I wish more doctors would just take a minute to sit and listen to what their patients are saying. Thanks a million Dr. D!!!!!!!

Dr. Durbhakula did a partial knee replacement for me. He used a robot for precision. I went home in four hours. My knee works perfectly. No problems at all. I would highly recommend the doctor and the procedure.

Excellent doctor. He will listen to you and I felt ordered appropriate imaging test--not overboard, but did get MRI when needed. Good at trying to piece together a complex issue. Very caring, seemed to genuinely want to help. Bedside manner was great. I felt he listened and took to heart what I had to say. He seems very positive and has a good energy. I would highly recommend! Office staff was great as well.

Dr. Durbhakula is the best doctor I ever had as far as communication, professionalism, personality and knowledge. He has treated my entire family and several of my friends. He is an excellent knee surgeon.
